THE PRIMITIVES
WITH CRAIG WESTON / WHAT IS OUR STORY?

The workshop
Is a public performance something we prepare in a rehearsal space and then bring to the street? Or is it something that writes itself, as the performer opens up to the outdoor space, to an audience, and to all the elements of chance which surround them.
In this workshop we will look at the alchemy of combining what we know - that which we have prepared, with what we don’t know - that which is waiting to happen once we leave the indoor rehearsal and go out into the public space. All the ways that the urban environment can play a part in and affect the performance, as well as some of the tools and techniques which can help the artist to breathe, observe, react to and play with that world around them.
